The objective of this thesis was to perform a structural analysis and dimensioning of the elements of the specified structural beam, with the requirement to determine the cross-sectional dimensions in accordance with the current HRN EN standards and regulations. The goal was to ensure that the structure meets all safety and functional requirements and is executed according to the highest professional standards. As part of the project, the primary and secondary beams of a timber canopy, located in the Osijek area at an elevation of 94 meters, were analyzed and dimensioned. The site falls under terrain category 2, which affects material selection and dimensioning due to specific climatic conditions and loads, such as wind and snow. The specified structural system consists of a cantilever beam and a column. The secondary beams are supported by the primary beams, which are spaced 4.2 meters apart. The beam is fixed at one end to a rigid support, while at the other end it rests on a column, which is connected to the beam with a semi-rigid joint, and to the foundation with a fixed support. This system ensures even load distribution and structural stability. The cross-sectional dimensions of beam 1B are b/h = 12/44 cm, and it is made of glued laminated timber with strength class GL26h, ensuring high load-bearing capacity and resistance to external influences. The cross-section of column AC is b/h = 12/12 cm. After a detailed load analysis acting on the structure, the dimensioning was carried out using the calculated design values of internal forces, such as bending moments and shear forces. This approach ensures that all elements of the structure are dimensioned to meet the safety and functional requirements according to the relevant standards. As a result, the adequacy of the selected materials and dimensions for the anticipated service conditions is confirmed, contributing to the durability and reliability of the structure. This method allows for the safe and economical construction of the canopy, adhering to all regulations and professional standards.
