This paper shows the simplifications in the method of forces and the reduction clause, which are used in the analysis of statically determined structures. It is focused on techniques that enable the simplification of calculations in the method of forces. The following reliefs are observed: elastic center of gravity, symmetry and antisymmetry of the unknowns and symmetry of the system. The aim of the paper is to first analyze the benefits in the theoretical part, and to support the theory with practical examples. The first chapter of the paper describes the elastic center of gravity as a possibility to reduce the steps in the method of forces. It is defined as the point through which the resultant force of the external load passes, with the intention of causing translation, without rotation of the elastic body. Then we have a section dedicated to symmetry and antisymmetry of unknowns and systems. It shows how symmetry and antisymmetry reduce the number of unknowns and speed up problem solving. As for the symmetry of the system, it is the basic prerequisite of all these facilities, and the use of half a model with symmetric and antisymmetric loading is the use of superposition in the method of forces with a smaller number of unknowns. The paper shows the influence of symmetry on internal force diagrams and system deformation under load. In chapter two, a practical example is presented, which tries to demonstrate the application of these benefits in the best possible way. The third part of the paper refers to the reduction clause, as another relief used in the calculation of statically indeterminate systems. Through a practical example, the application of the reduction clause will be presented, which enables faster and simpler numerical calculation of displacements of statically indeterminate systems. The results indicate that the application of simplifications in the force method reduces the complexity of the equations of the force method and the time for analysis, but the results are still with the same good accuracy.
