Abstract
Kako bi se osigurala nosivost kolničkih konstrukcija namijenjenih velikom prometnom opterećenju, u takve se konstrukcije ugrađuje sloj cementom stabiliziranoga zrnatog materijala, nazvan cementom stabilizirani nosivi sloj (CNS). No, dodatkom cementa zrnatom materijalu razvijaju se unutarnja vlačna naprezanja koja iniciraju nastanak pukotina. Te se pukotine, zbog velike krutosti i male deformabilnosti ovoga materijala, šire pod utjecajem dinamičkoga opterećenja izazvanoga prometovanjem vozila. Kao rezultat te pojave javljaju se pukotine na voznoj površini kolnika koje narušavaju sigurnost i udobnost vožnje te povećavaju troškove održavanja i skraćuju životni vijek kolničke konstrukcije. Takve se pukotine nazivaju reflektivne pukotine. U ovom doktorskom radu ispitana je mogućnost primjene otpadne gume u CNS-u koja zbog svoje elastičnosti pokazuje potencijal za smanjenje razvoja unutarnjih naprezanja, a samim time i razvoja pukotina. Provedena su eksperimentalna ispitivanja mehaničkih svojstava 17 mješavina CNS-a s dvije frakcije otpadne gume i tri različite količine cementa. Osim provedbe ispitivanja mehaničkih svojstava mješavina uobičajenih prilikom karakterizacije CNS-a provedene su i kemijske analize sastava gumenoga agregata, analiza specifične površine čestica agregata, mikroskopska analiza i analiza skupljanja mješavina CNS-a. Osim razornih metoda ispitivanja na razini materijala primijenjene su i nerazorne metode (mjerenje brzine prolaska ultrazvučnoga impulsa i digitalna stereo fotogrametrija s korelacijom digitalne slike). Ispitana je i ekološka prihvatljivost uporabe otpadne gume u ovom građevinskom proizvodu. Temeljem dobivenih rezultata razvijeni su modeli funkcijskoga odnosa između rezultata nerazornih i razornih metoda ispitivanja koji se mogu koristiti kao pouzdani predikcijski modeli za brzu karakterizaciju materijala. Za ispitane mješavine provedena je i numerička analiza u, za ovo područje, nespecijaliziranom i specijalizirnaom računalnom alatu. Osim provođenja ispitivanja na razini materijala definirana je metodologija ispitivanja i analize rezultata ispitivanja na razini konstrukcije primjenom digitalne stereo fotogrametrije s korelacijom digitalne slike. Naposljetku, stvoren je sustav vrednovanja cementom stabiliziranih nosivih slojeva kolnika.
Abstract (english)
To ensure the load – bearing capacity of pavement structures intended for heavy traffic loads, a layer of cement – stabilized granular materieal, refered to as cement – bound base course (CBC), is incorporated into such structures. However, the addition of cement to the granular material introduces internal tensile stresses that initiate crack formation. These cracks propagate due to the high stiffness and low deformability of this material under the influence of dynamic traffic load. This phenomenon results in cracks on the pavement surface, compromising driving safety and comfort, increasing maintanance costs, and shortening the lifespan of the pavement structure. Such cracks are commonly reffered to as reflective cracks. This doctoral dissertation explores the possibility of utilizing waste rubber in CBC, which, due to its elasticity, exhibits potential to reduce the development of internal stresses and thus the formation of cracks. Experimental tests were conducted on the mechanical properites of 17 CBC mixtures, incorporating two fractions of waste rubber and three different cement quantities. In addition to characterizing the CBC mixtures through standard mechanical testing procedures, chemical analyses of the rubber aggregate's composition, analysis of the aggregate's specific surface area, microscopic analysis, and shrinkage analysis of the CBC mixtures were performed. Non – destructive test methods (ultrasonic pulse velocity measurement and digital stereo photogrametry with digital image correlation) were also employed alongside destructive material testing methods. The environmetnal suitability of utilizing waste rubber in this construction product was assessed. Based on the obtained results, functional relationship between non – destructive and destructive testing results were developed, serving as reliable predictive models for fast material characterization. Numerical analysis of the investigated mixtures was carried out using both general – purpose and specialized computational tools. Besides material – level testing, a methodology for testing and analyzing results at the structure level using digital stereo photogramtery with digital image correlation was defined. Ulitmately, an evaluation system for cement – stabilized base course was formulated.
